Fruitful participation at MC2023 in Darmstadt and iCT2023 in Fürth
After the absence of a “real” conference since the pandemic, the first major conference in the field, Microscopy Conference (MC2023), took place in 26. Feb. to 2. Mar. in Darmstadt, Germany. Over 900 people attended the conference. We have met colleagues and friends there, and participated many talks and presentations with fruitful and inspiring discussions. In this conference, 15 IMN/CENEM members attended, delivering 5 stage talks and 8 poster presentations. The highlights are of course always our brilliant master students taking the opportunity to present their work in front of experts from everywhere in the world.

Irene Krause’s presentation on her Master thesis project about electron diffraction tomography of textured thin films
At the conference banquet, PhD students Marco Morninger and Michael Landes received poster awards. Congratulations to all the colleagues!
In parallel, the iCT-2023 conference took place in Fürth. The tomo group participated in this conference. Alexander Götz contributed a stage talk with the title: Correlative lab-based Nano-CT and 360°-ET of hierarchical porous materials for catalysis and nanoparticle chromatography applications.
It’s such a nice event that we could meet with former colleague Janis Wirth, who now works at Volkswagen.
